Monitor Revisited and other stories

The Samsung may be better than early Dell revisions, but not the new ones; they're pretty much identical. Only the Dell is £300 cheaper - over here at least.

I want one!

I Hate My Neighbours

It's a good idea - I tried it last night! Someone has dragged one bin back in through the gate, and left it about 20 feet away from the shed. But it's only 28 hours so far - I will keep you posted!

Take the bins out, so as to avoid the stench... then leave them there. People will hopefully soon realise that the bins are not where they're meant to be.

Services charged by the hour. We will be billing you shortly.

Weirdo :)

Yay!

*runs around the room*

Unfortunately, I seem to have taken it a step further, and I've got my voice traffic on a separate VLAN to my client network, which is separated from the internet router via another router, which is also being the asterisk server. It's all getting rather silly :)

Another Infrequent Update

Nah, I'll do something much more complicated, like figure out how to make the whole thing interact with cacti, and then permission you ro access to a few graphs :)

I suppose you could get uptime and ps as well though....

uptime and ps should give a rough idea?

I'll do some stats for you on my asterisk box, which is a laptop running nothing other than asterisk and mpd. Not quite sure how I'll do this, but I'll figure out a way.

My concern over that is partly bandwidth, partly CPU/memory usage, and partly that I don't know enough about Asterisk at the moment to trust my ability to run my own phone service :p

How much CPU/memory does Asterisk use when idling, and how much when mid-call?

Need a headset before I can start to play with any of these things anyway :)

You know I'm just going to jump up and down and tell you that Asterisk can do your failover forwarding stuff for you. :)

Things I Learnt Last Week

I must admit, I only fixed some of the bugs in the module before I tired of trying to figure out the poorly written code :p

Keep meaning to finish the entry on the Wii - should be up shortly :p

Heh.

Good laptop :)
Dumb datacentre staff, they need more coffee and less pr0n!
No one likes paying more, but you have to pay for quality right?
Haha, yes, no car for me - sux that it's cost so much.
Woo for fixing bugs in CPAN modules :D Communist ;)
Wii-ch jokes are Wii talking about?

How is the nose?

Interesting, that's the price they quoted me! They told me to check the invoices for my service history to see if it had been replaced - if it hasn't, should replace it.

Yeah, I'd second that - the cam belt is cheap to buy, but quite costly to fit, but the cost of it going wrong is *huge*...

We had our cam belt and alternator belt done for about 150 quid all-in a couple of months back.

Bud

One thing not to put off is replacing the CAM belt if its due.
