Sorry, Regular Readers

Some mention has been made about how my diary entries are becoming increasingly sporadic and dull. Lack of free time aside, this is because I have become increasingly self-censoring. Partly for your benefit - a lot of my time is either spent working, or performing mundane daily activities, both of which would bore most of you to tears.

However, the main reason is that this site has accidentally become an advert for me. Clients often use this domain to contact me, and when asked "who does your site?", they give out this address. Even if they did use the other domain, thanks to years of linking and the wonders of Google, my two sites have become inextricably linked. Every time I start to write a humorous anecdote, or upload inane photos of a night out, I find myself wondering "but what if a client saw it", and I close the window. It's got to the stage where I've been tempted to take the whole thing down.

This increasing awareness of the implications of keeping the site going has been creeping up on me for the past couple of years, and that has definitely manifested itself in how and what I've posted. But the point of this site has always been to let friends know what I'm up to, and to let strangers find out a bit about me. To that end I've been posting here for over 7 years; a lot has happened to me in that time, and this diary has entries about most of it. Yes, this may be a personal website, and no, it may not always exude professionalism, but I don't think that's a reason to silence it. Everyone has a life outside work; I just choose to write about it here.

Easy solution... have a totally separate domain for your blog. Separate it from this site. However, what you used to write was amusing and didn't seem something that would put clients off. Of course if you are worried you should be cautious - you don't want to go out of business simply to amuse your friends!!

Well I'm planning on splitting the technical stuff off from this site at some point, but I do want to keep this domain as the personal one - friends have been coming to radiac.net for 7 years, radiac.co.uk for 8, so I'd have to put a link over or they'd lose contact.

I'll just have to put a bigger warning sign up on the front page pointing potential clients where they should be going :)

Anyway, this is hardly the diary of a drug-dealing child-snatching serial killer - nothing here that should put anyone off. Besides, I write it as much for myself as anyone else - it's good to be able to look back 5 years and remember what I was doing, even if I do usually cringe ;)

I think my paranoia just got the better of me for a bit - never mind, back now :p

I think you should write what you like on here. Reading strangers journals is incredibly dull so I don't think a client would read it?
I think your journal only adds to your fantabulousness so you should update it more and put some more photos up.

I have never knowingly met radiac yet I still read his diary. So if his clients are as dull as I am then maybe they will read it.

Anyway, there's definitely a lack of recent photos around here.

Nothing wrong with reading a stranger's journal! It depends on the quality of the entries :)

Yes, the photos situation must be addressed at some point in the near future.

I didn't mean you were dull! I meant that I find reading the journals of people I don't know to be boring.

No need to take offence!!
