We Love Banks

So I had a haircut yesterday, and on the way home, at about 3.45, I popped into the bank to talk to them about my bank account. In particular, how I have a student account, but am no longer a student. The girl in the front bit told me that someone was available to see me now, so I thought 'why not?' and went up.

Didn't escape till 6.20.

But I now have a new account, which appears to be pretty nifty - I get free basic AA cover, free travel insurance (sure it's not that great, but hey, it's free), and a few other random things for free, as well as up to 40% off electricals and 27% off new cars. Free stuff is always nice, eh?

So, how come I got offered all of this? Well, we worked out how much I was earning, and how much I was spending. And we subtracted spending from earning and came up with a positive number! I'm living within my means! Sure, I may not have been strictly accurate, i.e. I didn't mention my addiction to play.com. Sent them another suggestion e-mail a few days ago by the way, so watch out for sortable searches and the ability to buy things with other peoples accounts but still have them delivered to you. Bless play. Anyway, so they think that in my year off I'm actually making money, they must have thought 'ooh, promising one here'. Hahahahaha thats a good one.

So, just to make sure I am compounding their mistake, most of you will not have missed that it's Doom 3 time - in other words, time to spec up a new machine. I also have a copy of Painkiller in the post from play - saw Jared playing it the other day, it looks like fun. And at only £7.99, you can't go wrong!

In case you're wondering, I'm back in Sevenoaks teaching holiday courses again. Yay! Only mornings this week though, so thats nice. Past couple of weekends Leela has driven all the way down from Loughborough to Bath to see me, thats about 6 or 7 hours driving a weekend! I'll be going up in a couple of weekends time, but this weekend I am moving out of my Bath flat. The end of an era! Have so much stuff we've got to hire a van...

I'm also thinking of buying the graduation DVD, seeing as it's the only one that I'll ever buy that has me in it, and I buy rubbish like Secret Ninja, Roaring Tiger all the time. But at £33, it's more expensive than the Die Hard Trilogy Box Set on 6 DVDs. And the only way I'm going to spend that much on a DVD is if it has Arnie in it. Nobody even tripped over, I mean, how dull?! Perhaps I could buy it with some people in some kind of time share deal, where I get it for a day and post it on to the next person? Interested applicants should send a cheque for £40, made payable to Richard Terry. Don't forget to include the SAE for me to post the DVD back to you...

OH! And I got my £50 back from O2 after only a year and a half! Result! Time to celebrate! Hello, play.com!
