Diary: September 2004
So there I was, minding my own business, and someone injected me with hepatitis A and typhoid. And next week I'm going for polio, tetanus, diphtheria, and possibly malaria too.
Apparently I need to be vaccinated if I go to South Africa. Which (if you hadn't noticed on my countdown bar on the left) I will be doing in about 37 days time. Very exciting! Get to go through duty free too! Yay!

I now have a house in Bath! I have moved some stuff in, and have been sorting some things out. My bed is interesting - it disassembled itself during the night, so I've decided to either build something to make it work, or just sleep on the matress. Matress is sounding good.
Today, I had my first car-on-car accident! Leela had a Boots pre-reg interview today in Bristol, had an exciting journey over there. And while I was sitting outside in the car, reading a book in the passenger seat, a blue escort parallel parked in my bumper. Which was ...

I had my injection, and the injection swelled to the size of a grapefruit. Ok, maybe not quite that big, but it was massive and red and itchy and bad. Leela suggested anti-histamine stuff, which did the job. Speaking of Leela and jobs, she has exciting news over on her journal, which she has resumed now that she has internet access again.
I have been making chocolate things. Lots of them. I have used 4 packets of biscuits, 4 packs of butter, over a tin of golden syrup, and a bag of sultanas. Most healthy.

Tristan's here, after nearly getting deported as soon as he arrived in the country. So close yet so far. Must write more letters to people in high places...
We now have broadband, yay! The broadband guy arrived at 9am, was finished by about 9.15, and then we spent the next few hours trying to get dhcp under linux to work (significantly easier once we had plugged the cable in).

When I'm at home, as I was today, I usually go to Tescos to do the shopping, since it's closer. However, today I thought I'd make the minor detour to go to Sainsburys, since I wanted something in Homebase - they're on the same mini trading estate, so it made sense.
So, I got to the mini trading estate, and turned in. Imagine the layout; a short road leads to a mini roundabout. To the left is homebase, in front is Sainsburys petrol station, and to the right is Sainsburys.
