Hi again... it's the one-year anniversary of radiac.net! Woo!
I've been doing some revision (seeing as I have 3 exams next week), been doing some perl scripting (new version of YAGS on perl.uzeweb.com), and my hi-fi is great...
Tonight it's the head of house music supper (with plenty of alcohol)...

Head of house music supper

Just come back from the head of house music supper - not as much alcohol flowing as expected (even so, Andrew managed to get drunk...) - but it was a great evening.
Bowfinger

I just watched a film called 'Bowfinger', about a group of people make a film where the star doesn't know he's in it. Very very funny :)
I've been doing mech 1 revision today mainly...
Ah there's 'Patch Adams'. Quite a good film...

Mechanics 1
7th June 2001 at 13:12Comment
Well... I've just had a piano lesson (in which I sight-read two pages of Debussy - not a good lesson :p), and here I am in the computer room preparing for / panicking about my Mech 1 exam which is in approximately 50 minutes. I've already taken it twice; the first time I got 53/70 (low B), and the second time I got, well, a much lower mark :p
Blighs is closing tomorrow; apparently they close when they have no more alcohol to sell. And apparently, it's £1 / drink. WAHAY! So, if there's anyone in the Sevenoaks area; see you in Blighs tomorrow evening!
Contact (the film) arrived on DVD this morning; will watch that when I get home and let you know what it's like - Dan Brusca says it's great. But then again, he likes the new-style Radiohead... *shrug* we'll see :)
Hmm, maybe I should revise rather than add diary entries... See you later...

Revising
10th June 2001 at 21:04Comment
Hi... I'm revising for Stats 2 at the moment (well, not right now, but I have been all day and am about to get back to it in a minute). Got bored and updated my 'Interests' page.
I've also been looking at digital cameras (ok, haven't been revising *ALL* day...) - like the look of the Canon Ixus 300. It's a tad expensive, and the battery life of 1 hour, with a 2 hour recharge time, is a little off-putting. But then all small cameras are going to need a special battery (flat lithium jobby), and them batteries are not going to last long... I just want a small camera suitable for carrying round in a pocket and taking pictures for websites. Ixus looks like it'll do :)

Stats 2 Text Book
12th June 2001 at 12:43Comment
Damn, my text book sucks.
While he was a small boy, Poisson had his hands tied by his nanny who then hung him from a hook on the wall so that he could not get into trouble while she went out.
WHY THE HELL DO I WANT TO KNOW THAT?! I'M TAKING A ****ING STATS EXAM!
'You can't win without scoring goals'. So says the coach of a netball team. Jamilla disagrees and sets out to prove that there is no correlation between scoring goals and winning matches.
*Sigh*. You see what I'm up against here?

Boot Camp
12th June 2001 at 21:11Comment
Just watched the final of Boot Camp (sky 1 - a cross between Big Brother and Full Metal Jacket)... what an excellent series :)
The winner of the $500,000 prize was the first to win 7 of the dog tags of those dismissed in previous weeks. 7 of the 13 available dog tags were decided by a combination of 7 mental and physical endurance competitions; by the end, the two finalists had been awake for about 60 hours, and the scores were 6-1 to Wolf. Then 7 of the people who had been dismissed returned donated their dog tags to one or the other... they all voted for Whitlow, so she won :)
Oh well, back to the pure 3 revision...

Just took PH04. My last exam. No more exams! No more work for months! Yay!
Unfortunately, most of my friends still have like 3 exams left, so the main celebrations will have to wait till Thursday or Friday. *sulk*
Never mind... time to perl!

The Last Week
26th June 2001 at 02:49Comment
I drank FAR too much on Friday... recovered on Saturday (and returned to the pub Saturday evening)... I don't know how I lived without the pub :)
Sunday was a day of Perl and music; at 4.30 we had an orchestra rehearsal for the leavers' concert on Friday, at 7.15 it was the leavers' chapel service, and at 8.15 it was Mr Williams' final organ recital. What an exciting day :p
Today I ordered Freespace 2 (I know I'm a couple of years off, but it's a good game :)), played a bit of Freespace 1 to remind myself why I wanted Freespace 2... then another orchestra rehearsal at 4.30, watched Voyager (yay, Nelix lost his vocal chords!), and since then I've been Perling while Sky 1 is on in the background... I'm working on USML (Uzeweb Serverside Markup Language), which will probably be in use on at least 5 websites when finished.
It's that time of the night; Longplay has been going for a while (the video for 'Coffee and TV' by Blur is so cool :)), my eyelids are trying to close and I swear it's getting light outside. Time for sleep.
And so my last week at Tonbridge School has started...
